I found this dictionary in the Reference section at Carrollton High School. Although the book is somewhat dated, I felt it would be a good source to review and compare to the online dictionaries for this project. The dictionary includes over 163,000 entries, 850 illustrations, and many charts, tables, maps, and lists. The cover also boasts to be the "definitive guide to American English" with nearly 12,000 unique American terms. As in previous examples, I searched the word "librarian," and found the standard definition shown at the right. I did not think the definitions, illustrations, nor charts/tables/maps/lists were as grand as described on the book jacket; however, I'm probably spoiled to the offerings of online dictionaries.
