American Physical Society (APS) Physics Journal Index
American Physical Society (APS) Physics Journal Index
Grades: 10+ | Subject(s): Physics | Overall rating: 8
The American Physical Society (APS) Physics Index contains journal material published from 1893 to present for Physical Review Letters, Reviews of Modern Physics, Physics, Physical Review A, Physical Review B, Physical Review C, Physical Review D, Physical Review E, Physical Review X, Physical Review Applied, Physical Review Special Topics – Accelerators and Beams, and Physical Review Special Topics – Physics Education Research journals.
Science researchers can search journal content using the simple search bar at the top right of the screen. After you search for a topic, you can filter your search by articles featured in the Editor’s Suggestion, articles featured in Physics, or articles featured in the PRL Milestone journal. Users can also filter by category, by journal, and by date.
Once an article is found, researchers can view citation information and an abstract of the article. The majority of the articles have the option to view a PDF full-text version of the file. Users can also export citation information in BibTeX and EndNote formats. Author names are also hyperlinked so researchers can find more articles by them.
I gave this index an eight overall score for two reasons. First, I thought users should have additional search features other than a simple search bar. I would have also liked more options for filtering results. Last, the colors, graphics, layout reminded me of Windows 8…too large and too many colorful blocks.
