Almanacs and Yearbooks
When I hear the word "almanac," I think of my farmer grandfather. He considers his annual Farmer's Almanac to be as much of his life as his Bible. I am ashamed to say that until this project, I have never looked at an almanac before. Shhh...don't tell my grandfather.
Yearbooks take me back to school. I remember looking forward to yearbook dedication day all school year. Everyone would anticipate the unveiling ceremony for the yearbook and anxiously await the delivery of the coveted book during last period. I loved getting my copy (with my name engraved, of course), flipping through the pages, looking for pictures of myself and my friends, and having my copy autographed by all the right people. Ahhh...school days! |
For this project, I used the following almanacs and yearbooks:
- Infoplease Almanac (http://www.infoplease.com/almanacs.html)
- National Geographic Almanac of Geography (print)
- Old Farmer's Almanac (http://www.almanac.com)
- Sports Illustrated Almanac - 2013
- The United Nations Yearbook (http://unyearbook.un.org)
