Sports Illustrated Almanac 2013
Sports Illustrated Almanac 2013 (Print)
Grades: All | Subject(s): PE, Trivia | Overall rating: 8
Although, I do not really enjoy sports, I love watching games and live with two sports fans. The Sports Illustrated Almanac is an incredible resource for the sports enthusiast, trivia fan, or just someone wanting to know who won an event. The book is divided by sport and is packed with statistics, standings, and historical sporting data.
The sports included within the book include: baseball, college and professional football, college and professional basketball, hockey, the Olympics, tennis, golf, soccer, motor sports, horse racing, boxing, track and field, NCAA sports such as swimming, gymnastics, soccer, volleyball, fencing, cross-country, field hockey, etc., and miscellaneous sports such as archery, bowling cycling, figure skating, lacrosse, etc.
While this is a great reference book for a sports fan, I do not believe it would be something I would purchase on a yearly basis for the CHS media center. The information it contains could easily be searched for and found online. However, I did assign an overall rating of 8 to the book because it was very well organized and thorough. It was very detailed and included a wealth of information on every sporting event from the Super Bowl to the Little League World Series.
